Still Sleeping After that Coffee? Find out why.

Most of us drink coffee to wake up in the morning.  That is because our bodies, whether it is due to lack of sleep, lack of nutrition or stress do not get enough rest during the evening sleep periods.  The main reason that we tend to still feel sluggish after drinking our regular two cups is because of a lack of water we drink aside from everything else.

Drinking coffee in the morning decreases hydration in the body thereby not giving us the kick that we used to get when sipping that morning hot drink.  It used to be that after drinking my first cup I would be bright eyed and bushy tailed.  Now it seems that the blend is getting stronger and two cups isn't getting me past 10 o'clock.

So what did I do?  I found that by increasing my water has helped 3 fold.  In between my two morning cups I will insert a large bottle of water.  This helps to keep my brain hydrated as well as muscles and also serves in place of the extra strong brew.  Now I don't feel half as sleepy as I used to.  Another great way to help wake up in the morning is a breakfast.

I understand that it can be hard for some of us to eat a breakfast but this is important to the wake up process.  It gives our bodies the trigger it needs to get all the cells going to get us through the day.  If eating breakfast is really hard to do then I would suggest start small.  It doesn't really matter if you are eating an apple or half a piece of toast.  Getting your body off to the right start with food will keep you going long past your next cup of coffee.

Another great tip?  If you are having trouble falling asleep at night try Calcium or an apple.  Apples are high in fibre and are great for the body.  Calcium is the best especially if it is in supplement form as it is the purest but cold milk is great to!  But do not heat it!  Most of us learned at a young age that warm milk will help.

It is actually cold milk that does the trick since your body as to work harder to break it down as well as heat it.  This makes us sleepy at night and can make it a better sleep and a more restful morning.  Following these simple tips will help you get started on a healthier lifestyle and will help you stay at a lower limit of coffee intake.

Tip:  Did you know that for every one cup of coffee you drink, you should drink 2 cups of water to hydrate your body?!

I agree, I fi drink water before drinking coffee, I do not get sleepy. If you are really tired, Coffee is not going to help anyway.
